Heel Pain Symptoms

Symptoms of Heel Pain and Plantar Fasciitis

The most reported symptoms are sharp heel pain on first rising in the morning and after rest. Patients often suffer from a dull pain all day whether standing or walking.

Plantar fasciitis is most often seen in middle-aged men and women, but can be found in all age groups. Plantar fasciitis is diagnosed with the classic symptoms of pain well localized over the heel area of the bottom of the foot.

Pain is the main symptom. This can be anywhere on the underside of the heel. Commonly one spot is found as the main source of pain. This is often about 4 cm’s forward from the heel, and may be tender to touch. Gentle exercise may ease things a little as the day goes by, but a long walk often makes the pain worse. Sudden stretching of the sole of the foot may make the pain worse, for example, walking up stairs or on tip-toes.

“I have suffered terribly with early morning heel pain and after I have rested for a little while. The heel used to throb during the day and I was always in a bad mood! Since I have been using your silicone heel cups and your sports insoles for about 4 months I have been pain free and happy!

Thanking you.”
